Jacob travels to Wales, to find out the truth about his grandfather’s past, after he was murdered by what he believes is a mysterious creature, a ‘hollow’ or ‘hollowgast’. When he gets to Wales, he meets a pretty girl who can control fire, she takes him to meet Miss Peregrine. Miss Peregrine and the peculiar children live in time loops. The current one is set in 1940. At Miss Peregrine’s, Jacob meets Millard and Bronwyn who have the gifts of invisibility and incredible strength, respectively.

Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children (Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children) has Jacob and his friends fighting ‘hollows’, and saving Peregrine from the clutches of her captors. And finally, the children are seen looking for a new time loop, after the destruction of their old one.
